At Metecon, everybody has a say whether they want to work with you – and you should also get to know all of your future colleagues if possible so that you get an idea of who we are. In addition to all of your professional qualification, it is very important to us that we fit together.

That doesn’t mean you have to love the same sandwiches we do. We all love different sandwiches. Some may even claim we are a sandwich short of a picnic. But you can decide about that for yourself then.

Be prepared that we will take a lot of time to get to know you. Our interviews usually take between 60 and 120 minutes, depending on the responsibilities and number of colleagues you will be talking to.

Working at Metecon: that’s for sure

As an applicant you should enjoy the handling of complex tasks and be able to process them in a structured manner. Our work isn’t cookie-cutter business; hardly ever do we do the same thing twice. Instead, we have to acquire new expert knowledge for each project and put it into practice, we must demonstrate excellent conceptual skills, find individual solutions, make courageous decisions, deliberately take a pioneering role toward our customers, and be confident to take them by the hand. Communication skills, self and project management are the cornerstones for successful projects.

With our customers we maintain trustful, long-term relationships, we are discussion partner, enabler, implementer – or simply: service champion. Sometimes that means that we end up with a result that the customer didn’t really expect or maybe doesn’t even want. But because the client always comes first for us, we are able to bear it. You too? We are committed consultants AND implementers. Just one of these talents – omniscient prince charming OR busy lizzie – is not what we are looking for. As an applicant you should therefore have both communication skills and a healthy self-confidence paired with endless enthusiasm for immersing yourself in new topics and put your knowledge into practice.

We are not a family – after all, you cannot choose your family. But we are good colleagues for each other and therefore take care of each other. We respect the individuality of each colleague, promote our talents, support and trust each other. And often colleagues become real friends.

Your first days with us


If we reach an agreement, your first workday is just around the corner. Before you start, we will stay in touch and you will have to provide some more information and documents.

Your first working day starts at 10am.

We have a clear plan for your on-boarding process so your first couple of days will be very busy: You will get to know all colleagues, go through required safety trainings, be introduced to our tools and techniques, and in addition also receive specific training from your team.

All colleagues are happy to support you and always there for you.

Setting a good example

You are focused on a steep career? Then a major employer is probably a better choice for you. We don’t have any hierarchies. Well, we have a boss; but even he prefers to talk about “colleagues” instead of “employees”. We work in roles instead of hierarchies. It makes us more flexible and is due to our principle that we want to enable exchange on a par with each other.

But what does it look like in practice? In addition to project members and project managers (which changes from project to project; a manager of one project delivers merely part of the input for another project), we have for instance the role of the coordinator (as a project planner and designer at the interface to the customer) and topic owner: Experts for a certain topic bundle their knowledge and make it accessible for their colleagues.

If needed, you may choose a mentor yourself; especially for young colleagues a mentor can be very valuable for your professional and personal development.
